Praise to God

Nearly a year ago at our church, we got involved in a program called "Friend Speak." It is a program that teaches conversational English. For the 1st few months, the going was slow. But in recent months, the numbers of people coming have really picked up. And then last night, we were able to witness the new birth of one of our readers. I was brought to tears as one of our members who has been his reading partner spoke of how they had become close friends over the last year.

As I witnessed our brothers baptism last night, I thought back over the last month or so. I don't think there has been a time in which we were meeting for the last 4 or 5 weeks in which we have not been able to witness a new birth. In fact, there have even been a few instances where it was a gathering on a weeknight.

It is an exciting time to be a part of the Decatur Church of Christ. I'm not sure what the Lord is doing, but I sure want to be a part of it! I just pray He will bless me with eyes to be able to see His activity -- and jump into it!

Praise to You, our gracious Father!

Last night was awesome (I think the word awesome fits for this situation). Seeing the fruit from the seed that had been planted was a gift from God and a reminder of what can happen when we do our part, no matter how seemingly small, in doing God's will.

I agree-- awesome is the proper word for this situation. We didn't even know Braulio about a year ago. But God was leading him. And he led him to become friends with Joe. Watching God use His Word, watching Joe (His planter of the Word), watching others water, watching God bring the increase-- is nothing short of awesome.

And the best part, this is just the beginning. The beginning for Braulio, the beginning of FriendSpeak, the beginning of revival for our church family. I can't wait to see what the Lord continues to do.

I echo: "Praise God!" All glory and honor to Him.

It has been a joy to see the young people of our congregation giving their life to God. I have enjoyed seeing some of these kids grow up and develop into such fine young people, and it has been a great joy to be a part of that. It was also so awesome to be there last night. How incredible - I pray for more!

This has been an extremely exciting time! May the Lord be praised and may we learn more and more how to bend our knee to His holy Name!
