Part of the Journey

I went to a funeral yesterday at which one of our elders, Mike McDowell, officiated. He shared a quote from C. S. Lewis's book, A Grief Observed. Lewis wrote this book after the untimely death of his beloved wife. In it he wrote, “Her absence is like the sky, spread over everything.”

Words could not be truer.

I believe grief will color my existance as long as I live in this world. I handle it differently as time separates me from Krystal and brings me closer to reuniting with her but her loss does indeed spread over everything.

Hi Rick and Beverly, I fervently prayed for Jenny and still feel her loss, though I didn't know her( my daughter was friends with her), but as I listened to a Pastor teaching about Job the other day, he gave some scriptures that helped me with Jenny's passing! It gave me understanding that I personally needed! Maybe these same scriptures will also give you peace.

Isaiah 57:1-2

"The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death."

Continued blessings for you and yours,
