Content in the Mystery

This is traditionally one of my favorite weeks of the year. Masters Week.

I watched parts of Tiger Woods' interview from yesterday. Either he is an excellent actor, or he has truly been humbled. I was encouraged by what I saw. I don't think he has much chance to win this week, however. Even he will be overwhelmed by making this his 1st tournament in 5 months. But I will be watching.

Right now I am living with a quote that my minister friend John Scott gave me. I may have shared it before, but I am finding it helpful as I search for sense in all of this. "Learn to be content in the mystery." That is going to become my motto.

I love John Scott.

I hope Tiger has been humbled for his own sake. I know the pain that comes from walking the road of sin and I know the peace that comes from walking with God. I hope peace for him.

The more I change in my relationship with God the more my concept of church is changing. Instead of attending 3 times a week being the high bar I'm more convicted that fewer programs and more 6 day a week service outside the building is really what the body of Christ is about. I'm far from being a member of the body I need to be but working on it.

I wonder at times, if God is really pleased as to how worship service is conducted. Do we really come together to worship or has church become a social club. As a widow, I feel more alone at church than any other place.
